£4 million

Project overview

Certus Construction Services were appointed to carry out refurbishments to North Yorkshire Council housing stock, through the Efficiency North Installers Framework.

We supported NYC carrying out significant works while properties were empty as part of much. Compared to other landlords, the NYC stock is relatively old, and in some localities historically there has been lower levels of investment than elsewhere.

Strategically, investing in significant improvements whilst properties are void allows for a better tenant experience, helping to reduce complaints and avoid expensive decants.

The 3-year contract saw Certus Construction Services carry out repairs to over 250 empty properties across the Selby District.

Scope of works

  • Bathroom replacement
  • Kitchen replacement
  • Electrical works and rewires
  • Damp proofing
  • Plastering
  • External works
  • Paths and ramps
  • Windows and door

Words from the client

“Certus are a pleasure to work with, the guys on site are always polite and chatty. I want to thank them for supporting us in void deliveries through a key time as we transitioned from Selby DC to North Yorkshire Council.”
